Since its opening in 1912, Cheongdo Farmers’ Market has played a central role in the regional trade of Cheongdo. Equipped with modernized facilities, it operates every five days. On a market day, the market does flourishing business from dawn to sunset. Middle merchants from Busan and Daegu bustle about in the market which is briefly formed in the early morning to collect various items produced in Cheongdo such as wild edible greens, medicinal plants, and fruits. This market is famous for some specialties such as Cheongdo Bansi (seedless persimmon), dried persimmon, half-dried persimmon, Cheongdo peaches, Yuho King strawberry, sticky barley, and Hanjae water parsley.
